A PRAYER FOR HEALING

O’ Lord,

Unworthy am I but You love me still

Heal me completely if it be Your will

This oft neglected broken vessel

By Your grace, the Holy Spirit’s temple

Wash away the scourge of this malady

I come to You again on bended knee

To touch the hem of Your righteous robe

The power of Your love my only hope

Yet if this be the refining I must endure

Let my testimony for You be ever sure

Your selfless sufferings I can only imagine

To rescue me from the penalty of sin

Thank You for Your great mercy to me

Whatever my lot, to You be the glory!

Please hear this my humble petition

My Savior, O’ Lord, O’ Great Physician!

Amen

“The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

Romans 8:16-18 ESV

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
