WHERE YOUR HEART IS

How can this love so very great

Be meant for one so lowly

A holy offering of unending grace

To save the most unworthy

A sinner from my very first breath

Hastening down the darkest road

Ransomed by my Savior’s death

His resurrection redeemed my soul

God’s perfect love and my terrible sins

Nailed Him to that blood-stained throne

But His matchless mercy never ends

Hallelujah! In Christ Jesus I am home!

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Matthew 6:21 ESV

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
