“In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14 ESV
When we think about the story of our life Sin was the author of the turmoil and strife Our old nature worships everything it wants But what if there really is a second chance
Not that one could do it all over again But a life ever redeemed by the Son of Man If only we confess and repent of our sin Placing all our hope and our trust in Him
Grateful for the saints who walked in faith before us Serving others by our holy Savior’s righteousness Joyfully leading the way to the Light of Light Their names inscribed in the Lamb’s Book of Life
For Christ Jesus died and arose that we might live By this gift of grace our sin and pride He forgives Eternal life in heaven the theme of our new story Our unworthiness now “to the praise of His glory!”
I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share.
In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified!
