“REJOICE IN HOPE”

“Rejoice in hope” for we are saved by God’s grace

Nothing we have done but faith alone in His only Son

Sacrificed on that terrible tree in our deserved place

Christ Jesus arose the third day, our redemption won

“Be patient in tribulation” for we are not in this alone

There is one who loves us more than words express

His atoning blood paves the way to our heavenly home

Suffering and death defeated, He gifts us peace and rest

“Be constant in prayer” more often on bended knee

Let His Word be ever on our lips and in our hearts

Seeking forgiveness and humble service all for His glory

For by His amazing act of love, hope He imparts!

“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”

Romans 12:12 ESV

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
