FOR GOD’S GLORY

Oh Lord, wherever I go, You are there

From the mountaintop to the deepest sea

How I long to be in Your loving care

For nothing compares to Your majesty

All creation manifests Your power and glory

See the stars placed in the sky by Your hand

Yet You care for someone as lowly as me

A love so great to send the Son of Man

To bear my sins and suffer alone on Calvary

His timely death atoning for every evil thing

All my dark thoughts, words and deeds

Then He arose forever defeating death’s sting

Oh Lord, how I love to sing Your praise

Bowing before the Cross on bended knee

Thankful You saved my life by Your grace

Joyfully following You for all eternity

“If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.”

Psalms 139:9-10 ESV

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
