ATTRIBUTES OF OUR GOD

Dear Father in heaven,

Your goodness and holiness are unfathomable
Eternally faithful and abundantly merciful are You
Your love is everlasting for You are unchangeable
Every promise found in Your Word is securely true

Your majesty is wonderfully displayed in Your creation
There is no greater wisdom but that which flows from You
Before time was, You were and are the Great I AM
Perfect justice and marvelous grace are manifestly You

Forgive my sinfulness for which Your only Son died
His precious blood shed to redeem my callous heart
Come change me and fill me with Your glorious Light
At the foot of that dread and lovely Cross is where I must start!

Make it so every day!

In Christ Jesus’ precious name,

Amen

“For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”
Romans 1:20 ESV

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
