SANCTIFICATION’S JOURNEY

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1Thessalonians 5:23 (ESV)

Leaving selfishness and pride behind Justified by Christ Jesus’ grace alone Healed hearts that were once blind Rest in faith upon the Cornerstone

The road ahead predictably narrows The enemy closing in at each turning Using disappointment and sorrows
To blindside those unwary without warning

Undeserved mercy and forgiveness intertwined Pave the way from The Cross to the promised land Though one may stumble and fall at times We’re raised up by His righteous right hand

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
