OF WHOM ANGELS SING

“And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”” Matthew 3:16-17 ESV

“This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”

Abba Father loves us more than mere words can say

So Jesus died and rose again, sin’s awful reign to defeat

For only He can rescue us come the judgement day

He is the blessed bearer of the Good News

The Light of the world, the rejected cornerstone

The promised Messiah, the righteous bridegroom

Our redemption realized through Him alone

So I bow my heart to God’s holiness and majesty

Repenting of my sinfulness and every prideful thing

For His grace saves me by faith in God’s gift of mercy

Christ Jesus, the One of whom the angels sing!

“Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!””

Revelation 5:11-12 ESV

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
