DESPISED AND REJECTED

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Because of your sinfulness, I am rejected
Because of your ignorance, I am rejected
Because of your indifference, I am rejected
Because of your idolatry, I am rejected
Because of your timidness, I am rejected
Because of your hypocrisy, I am rejected
Because of your neglect of the poor and destitute, I am rejected Because you have set other loves before Me, I am rejected Because of your selfishness, I am rejected
Because of your pride, I am rejected
Because of your silence, I am despised and rejected

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
