THE HOPE THAT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11–13 (ESV)

By faith in Christ Jesus we are completely and eternally justified

Adopted heirs by His marvelous grace making the unworthy worthy

Realizing peace with our heavenly Father because of His living sacrifice

We look ever forward in hope to the praise of His unspeakable glory

For it is in this hope that we persevere through every conceivable conflict

Saved from God’s terrible wrath, the penalty for our sin, by this reconciliation

His righteousness pouring endlessly into every believer by the Holy Spirit

God’s boundless love for us, yet sinners, made known by the death of His Son

This is the free gift given to all who place their assurance in Christ Jesus

God’s beloved Son by whom the Holy Spirit forever seals our salvation

When we repent and accept His shed blood in atonement for each of us

Exalt in the Holy God through our Lord Jesus Christ and His resurrection!

This is the love that inspired such grace and it is this grace that brings hope

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
