RECEIVING MERCY

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,”. Psalm 103:1-4 ESV

Receive mercy…

drawing near to the throne of grace

from the One deserving all our praise!

Receive mercy…

finding grace in time of need

asking in faith on bended knee

Receive mercy…

every morning made new

by God’s great love so true

Receive mercy…

born again to a living hope through Christ’s resurrection

blotting out all our transgressions

Receive mercy…

not because of anything done by us

by the washing of the Holy Spirit and His righteousness

Receive mercy…

that Christ Jesus might display His perfect patience

and wisdom from our God so gracious

Receive mercy…

from the Father rich in mercy

His steadfast love bestowed on the unworthy

Receive mercy…

that will never come to an end!

all who have placed their trust in Him!

Receive mercy…

drawing near to the throne of grace

from the One deserving all our praise!

Hallelujah and Amen!

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23:6 ESV

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
