“THE PEACE OF GOD”

“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, good will toward men.”

Luke 2:13-14 KJV

Peace…

exceeding our comprehension

guards our minds and our hearts

the grand gift of our salvation

the blood-stained Cross imparts

perfect for those who believe in Him

manifested in the fruit of the Spirit

praising Him who bore all our sins

ever sowing a righteous harvest

all who labor and are heavy laden

showing the way we should live

knowing God’s mercies never end

the blessing His loving arms give

leading us beside still waters

flowing from a changeless river

providing all things that matter

washing us by God’s grace forever

the Gospel of our Lord Christ Jesus

the hope of the Living Word to restore

by the Holy Spirit with joy and righteousness

Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Wonderful Counselor

The Prince of Peace!

who could ever want for more

As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!”

Luke 24:36 ESV

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
