“HOLY IS HIS NAME”

”But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.

Galatians 4:4-5 ESV

Rejoice in God’s love for us pouring out endlessly

Magnify the Redeemer, the Rock of our salvation!

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree

All the world was to be registered for taxation

Everyone returned to their family’s town

Joseph and Mary journeyed to Bethlehem

In the city of David no room could be found

But ever great was God’s faithfulness to them

Mary gave birth to the promised Messiah, the firstborn, a baby boy

An angel of the Lord appeared to shepherds and said to them

“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy”

God’s glorious mercy is for all who fear Him

The Lamb of God in swaddling clothes sleeps in a manger

“Holy is His name”, the name above every name, Jesus

Christ the Lord, Mighty God, our King, our Savior!

“Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace among those with whom He is pleased!”*

“But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.” Luke 2: *14,19-20 ESV

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
