“HIS NAME SHALL BE CALLED”

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.” Isaiah 9:6-7 ESV

“Wonderful Counselor”

The Great Shepherd keeps watch over you!

Abundantly merciful and awesomely wise

Faithfully leading in all that is right and true

All glory to the Creator, the Almighty on high!

“Mighty God”

Holy is His name, the Lord of hosts

Mighty One of Jacob, the Stone of Israel

The Rock on whom our salvation rests

The Sword of the Spirit proclaiming the Gospel!

“Everlasting Father”

Our Father, our radiant Redeemer from of old

Hallelujah! His steadfast love endures forever!

His favor more precious than silver and gold

By His all sufficient grace we are delivered!

“Prince of Peace”

The Shepherd and Guardian of our souls

By His shed blood His righteousness He imparts

Peace and rest are the promises He extols

May the King of kings ever reign in our hearts!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
