“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” John 13:34 ESV
Overflowing from the Beloved whom God sent
Jesus gave this new commandment
Love one another
Behold His crucifixion and resurrection
With brotherly affection
Love one another
His love steadfast and His promises true
Just as He has loved you
Love one another
The Holy God loved you from the start
From a pure heart
Love one another
Our blessed hope is the Living Word
From the beginning this message heard
Love one another
Trust in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior
Outdo one another in showing honor
Love one another
The Father’s love abides in you
Making all things new
Love one another
The Light dawns in the darkness
By this all people will know you are His
Love one another
Praise God for grace, peace and mercy!
For His awesome glory!
Love one another earnestly!
“Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,” 1 Peter 1:22 ESV
I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share.
In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified!
