WHEN ANGELS CRY

Before the beginning of time

The Heavenly Father knew my name

Drawing me to His holy Light

I would never be the same

Knowing the heavy burden of my sin

God sent His only Son from above

Redeeming my stony heart to Him

There can be no greater love

Jesus came to suffer and die

The Messiah sacrificed on a cruel tree

Oh how the angels must have cried

The King of kings crucified on Calvary

Endless grace flowing from each wound

Mercy magnified with His last breath

His body placed in a borrowed tomb

Christ arose mightily conquering death!

Now I am covered in His righteousness!

Rescued for eternity by the Great I Am!

For every new believer all heaven rejoices!

And the angels cry “Worthy is the Lamb!”

“Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!”

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
