“Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.” Job 1:20-22

In Uz there was a blameless and upright man Who feared God and turned away from evil He was the greatest of all dwelling in the land Blessed with ten children, sheep and camels
Rising early in the morning to give burnt offerings Atoning for the suspected sins of his children Faithful to God and continually sacrificing On earth there was no one like him among men
God commended Job when Satan inquired If there was a hedge around him on every side For God had blessed Job in all he had acquired Telling Satan “he is in your hand, only spare his life”
When Job lost his livestock, servants and children He tore his robe, shaved his head, and fell worshipping “Blessed be the name of the Lord” who has given and taken “Naked I came from my mother’s womb” and so returning
Are you enduring hardship or the loss of someone Rising early in the morning without hope or peace Are your burdens so heavy you are utterly undone Only One is steadfast in love, abounding in grace
For God so loved us he gave his sinless Son to save us Bearing our sins, he suffered and died on Calvary Christ arose the third day gifting us his righteousness Redeeming for himself his beloved bride for all eternity!
