PRAY IN VICTORY

…for the Lord your God is He who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory. Deuteronomy 20:4

Our lives are no longer our own

We seek Your righteousness

Through The Cross alone

Let Your Truth and Love reign in us

For our sins have been washed away

By Your sacrifice for our eternal life

Please work in us Your Grace

That others may see Your Light

Grant us Your timely deliverance

As we face life’s many adversities

In the confidence of Your presence

We can already claim victory

Accept our works and our worship

As we exalt and praise Your Holiness

Let this be our lasting stewardship

And our witness for You be blessed

Let no earthly realm or idols divide us

But give us wisdom to discern Your Truth

With love and abiding faithfulness

We place all our trust in You

For You alone are Worthy

The Lamb that was slain

Risen to Heaven’s glory

We pray in The Name above all Names

Amen

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
