THE RESURRECTED LIFE

In Adam all will surely die

In Christ we are made alive

The Cross mercifully gifts us justification

The empty tomb leads to sanctification

God gave His only Son this cup

The Temple destroyed to be raised up

Jesus died and rose from the dead

Exactly as he had said

By a man came the curse of death

On the third day came Jesus’s first breath

Whoever believes in Him

Though he die yet he shall live

Our Redeemer grants us abundant life

Out of darkness into the Light

If Christ is not raised our faith is in vain

If he is not raised, in our sins we remain

The crucified Christ is risen indeed!!

Come worship him on bended knee

Touch the wounds in his feet and hands

Grace and peace flow from the Son of Man!

Believe Jesus is the truth, the life, the way!

And be raised up on the last day!

By God’s power He raised the Lord!

Exalt forever our Savior, the Living Word!

“For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.” Romans 6:5 ESV

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
