MY EVENING AND MORNING AND NOON PRAYER

“But I call to God, and the Lord will save me. Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan, and he hears my voice. He redeems my soul in safety from the battle that I wage, for many are arrayed against me.” Psalm 55:16-18 ESV

O’ God,

Thank You for hearing my earnest prayer

I plead for needed rest and undeserved mercy

For I know your steadfast love endures forever

Once more please forgive me and rescue me

The enemy continually seeks to destroy me

Darkness battles for my heart and my mind

But your Light ever beckons me to Calvary

Where the Holy Spirit opens blinded eyes

In my own strength I cannot do anything

But the Power that opened the tomb I proclaim

I see the risen Redeemer and to his promises cling

Only by your Grace am I saved, never to be the same

So once more I cast all my burdens on You

The Savior King who always sustains his own

Never permitting the righteous to be moved

I find peace and joy kneeling before your throne

O’ Lord, how I trust you and wait for you!

Longing to walk with You in the garden!

Thank You for your great faithfulness and truth!

I exalt You! for your glory and love never end!

Amen

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
