Be of one mind and one love, joyful in full accord
“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit”
Humbly exalt others and proclaim the Living Word
Serve as Jesus did when he washed his disciples’ feet
Let your mind continually be set on Christ Jesus
Though God and man he did not seek his own glory
He emptied himself becoming as a servant to us
Born in the likeness of man but with all humility
Jesus was obedient even to death on Calvary
Therefore he is highly exalted by God the Father
Who bestowed the name above all on his Majesty
Let every knee bow down before him forever!
For “Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father!”
“Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share.
In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified!
