INTO HIS HANDS

Humble tears flow down my woeful face

Kneeling before the blood-stained tree

My sins are washed away without a trace

Behold the risen King of unmerited mercy!

Sing praises of God’s deliverance forevermore!

In heaven and earth no greater love than this

Exalt the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior!

No selfless sacrifice could ever compare to his

Oh, for the day when I stand before his majesty!

Will he cradle my face in his nail-scarred hands?

Will I fall before his holy throne on bended knee?

Joyful tears flow through the nail-holes without end!

“The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.” John 3:35 ESV

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
