“THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS”

Whatever is true

Jesus is the truth, and the life, and the way

Know the Truth who breaks sin’s cruel chains

Whatever is honorable

Honor the Father and the Son, Christ Jesus

Pursue His righteousness and loving kindness

Whatever is just

If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us

Walk humbly with your God, seeking to do justice

Whatever is pure

Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God

Create in me a clean heart and right spirit, O Lord

Whatever is lovely

How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news

O Lord of hosts, how lovely the dwelling place with You

Whatever is commendable

Being mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly

Let your light shine before others and give Him all the glory

Whatever is excellent

Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor, excellent in wisdom

The Father is well pleased with His beloved Son

Whatever is worthy of praise

Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised!

To Him be glory and dominion today and always!

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
