“CHRIST DIED FOR US”

“but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 ESV

“The Holy God shows Himself holy in righteousness”*

Believe in the steadfast love that He has shown us

The good and perfect gift that comes from above

Through His only Son He shows us matchless love

The Heavenly Father of lights never shows partiality

Great is His love for us being rich in grace and mercy

Whoever abides in love abides in God and God in him

But all have fallen short of His glory, for all have sinned

O Lord, be gracious, heal us, for we have sinned against You

All are consigned to disobedience, but Your mercy is ever new

To this end Christ Jesus died on the Cross and lives again

That he might be Lord of everyone who believes in him

For the death he died he died to sin once for everyone of us

But the life he lives he lives to the holy God of righteousness

So let us now live not for ourselves but only to the risen King

Who was born to die and was raised and is coming again!

*Isaiah 5:16

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
