“I BELIEVE”

O’ Lord God, my heart rejoices and is steadfast

In You alone I find peace, strength and harmony

You are my portion and in Your faithfulness I rest

Forever Your praises I will sing and make melody

Trusting in You O’ God and Your only begotten Son

Once more I repent of my sins and You are faithful

And just to forgive and cleanse me by Jesus’ blood

Breaking the chains of sin to secure a chosen people

Justified by Your awesome grace alone this free gift

Unworthy am I, but I confess the risen Christ as Lord

The Son of man who died on the Cross that I might live

I believe in the all of the promises of Your Living Word

By the Holy Spirit You have taken my heart of stone

Forgiven my sins and given me a hopeful heart of flesh

On bended knee I worship at the foot of Your throne

By Your mercy and righteous love I am forever blessed!

Hallelujah and Amen!

“For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” Romans 10:10 ESV

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
