“RICH IN MERCY”

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,” Ephesians 2:4-6 ESV

The Lord our God is gracious and merciful

Slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love

In His promises we remain forever hopeful

Awaiting the return of the Light from above!

God has shown His awesome love for us

In that while we in darkness kept on sinning

Christ died for us because of righteousness

The merciful plan of God from the beginning!

For our sake He made His only Son to be sin

But when Christ arose from a borrowed grave

We who believe were made alive with him

And by his marvelous grace we are saved!

So He has raised us, the unworthy, up with him

And in him has seated us in heavenly places

Rejoicing forever for His mercies never end

Hallelujah for the day we meet him face to face!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
