“BE STRONG”

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 ESV

He who commands the morning since the beginning of time

His glorious majesty and righteousness are supremely divine

The Lord of all commands His precepts to be kept diligently

Proclaim the Living Word of our Heavenly Father faithfully

Be strong in the Lord with the strength of His great Light

Reassure the anxious heart, “fear not the darkness of night”

Say to your brother and sister, “be strong, steadfast and true”

Christ Jesus has promised to never leave you or forsake you

Blessed are those who suffer for the sake of righteousness

Sing praises to the only Son of God, our Redeemer, Jesus

Come to Him, find peace and rest when you are discouraged

By His marvelous mercy and great grace we are encouraged

God will help you, upholding you with his righteous right hand

He prepares a place for his rescued remnant in the promised land

Wait patiently for the Lord, let your redeemed heart take courage

Behold Jesus, our Savior, is with us always to the end of the age!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
