WAITING FOR THE LORD

“But for you, O Lord, do I wait; it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer.” Psalm 38:15 ESV

Wait for the Lord, be strong and courageous

Through the Spirit, by faith, our hope of righteousness

Ask anything according to His will, He will hear you

Every promise He made by the Living Word is true

Abide in Him and let His Word always abide in you

Wait for the Lord for your strength to be made new

Ask for it in prayer and you will receive if you believe

My soul waits for the Lord, my sure help and shield

Seek Him and He will deliver you from every fear

Find solace in His arms, He will wipe away every tear

Ask in His name and God will answer for His glory

Wait in the Lord’s steadfast love and endless mercy

Our hope is in Christ Jesus, wait in faithful silence

Hoping for what you do not yet see, wait with patience

Then come and exalt His glory at the heavenly throne!

Abundant grace comes from You, O Lord our God, alone!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
