VALIANT AND TRUE

“you whom I took from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest corners, saying to you, “You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off”; fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:9-10 ESV

O Lord, thank You for saving us to the uttermost!

Your Son bearing our griefs and carrying our sorrows

Draw us near to You by the intercession of the Cross

Let Your Peace overwhelm our fears about tomorrow

You chose us to be Your servants, sons and daughters

From the farthest corners of the earth You called us

The Holy Spirit guiding us to springs of living water

May we seek first Your kingdom and righteousness

Thank You for the promise of our Savior’s empty grave

Death is defeated forever, our sins are forgiven!

We praise You for Your steadfast love that saves!

Our eternal treasure is at Your right hand in heaven

Lord, You are our God, there is no other besides You!

Christ Jesus is our refuge and strength all our days!

Your righteous right hand is strong, valiant and true!

All glory to our Redeemer, full of love and grace!

Amen

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
