“COME AND SEE”

“Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.”

Psalm 66:5 ESV

God is awesome in His deeds toward His children

Come to Him all who labor and are heavy laden

Sing and make melody for His heart is steadfast

Come to Christ Jesus and He will give you rest

He rescues us from the deep before we sink

If anyone thirsts, come to Jesus and fully drink

We love because our Redeemer loved us first

Come to the living water everyone who thirsts

Whoever comes to Him will never be cast out

Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth shouts

Sing His praises for He has done gloriously

All our days we know His goodness and mercy

Give thanks to the Lord with your whole heart

He has ransomed your soul and will never part

At the name of Jesus worship on bended knees

Recounting His sacrifice and wondrous deeds

Remember the awesome deeds of Christ the Lord

He will sustain you by His love and the Living Word

Remember always His marvelous wonders of old

Until we walk with Him on heavenly streets of gold!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
