“A PLEA FOR GRACE”

“Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace.”

Psalm 86:6 ESV

Everyone who has ears to hear, let him hear

To the Cross of the risen Redeemer draw near

May every eye be open to the truth that sets us free

God hears each voice and every plea for mercy

At all times His grace is abundantly sufficient

Ask for the power of God through the Spirit

On bowed knees, humbly pray without ceasing

Pray for forgiveness, the bonds of sin releasing

Rejoice in hope, be patient in trials, ever in prayer

For the salvation of all, the grace of God appears

Behold, the Son of the Father, full of truth and grace

Ask in prayer and you will receive if you have faith

Hear my prayers, O God, hear my eternal praise

Through faith I have been saved by matchless grace

By the marvelous grace of Jesus I am what I am

Made righteous only by the blood of the Lamb!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
