“And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy. I will betroth you to me in faithfulness. And you shall know the Lord.”
Hosea 2:19-20 ESV
“Love bears all things”
A man shall leave his father and his mother
Steadfast love and faithfulness meet
Righteousness and peace kiss each other
In Christ Jesus our joy is made complete!
“Love believes all things”
Know and believe the love God has for you
As the bridegroom rejoices over his bride
God rejoices over you, His mercies ever new
Always hold fast to the love of your life!
“Love hopes all things”
Love one another for love is from God above
Whoever loves has been born of God and knows Him
Behold, His salvation comes with hope and love!
All who abide in love, abide in God and God in them!
“Love endures all things”
He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains God’s favor
The marriage of the Lamb will come, His bride makes ready
Pursue righteousness and find grace, abundant life and honor
Forever let us rejoice and exalt and give God the glory!
I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share.
In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified!
