“BROUGHT NEAR”

“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”

Ephesians 2:13 ESV

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you

Jesus came that we may know Him who is true

Our Redeemer lives to make intercession for us

Forgiving us, cleansing us from all unrighteousness

His precious blood ransomed us from futile ways

Draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith

The blood of Christ Jesus cleanses us from all sin

Saving to the uttermost all who draw near to God through Him

With confidence let us draw near the throne of grace

Knowing that the Lord rewards those who seek His face

Whoever would draw near to God must believe

To receive mercy and grace to help in the time of need

The blood of Christ poured out for us is the new covenant

Justified by His blood our sins are forgiven when we repent

The precious Lamb of God who was slain is forever worthy!

To receive power and might, honor and blessing, and glory!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
