ALWAYS WITH YOU

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV

Where does my help come from, to the hills I lift up my eyes

To fulfill His purpose for me, I cry out to God Most High

My help comes from the Lord, creator of heaven and earth

I count everything as loss, knowing Jesus’ surpassing worth

With all my heart I trust in the Lord, not my own understanding

Giving thanks and praying, no longer anxious about anything

Jesus strengthens me, helps me, upholds me with His hand

The peace of God guards my heart and mind in the Son of Man

Cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you too

The fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true

God came near when I called on Him, He said “Do not fear”

Seek the Lord while He may be found, call while He is near

Your God is with you, you need not fear, rejoice and believe

He will be with you, He will not forsake you, He will not leave

Be strong and courageous in Christ, never be dismayed

Jesus said “Behold I am with you always to the end of the age”

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
