“IN THE DAY OF TROUBLE”

“and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.

Psalm 50:15 ESV

Draw near to God and He will draw even nearer

Call upon Him, come and pray, and He will hear

Give thanks to the Father through the Son of Man

Whenever you cry out, He will say “Here I am”

Trust in the Lord Jesus with your whole heart

His right hand upholds you, He will never part

Our Savior rescues all who in their heart believe

The seeker will find, everyone who asks receives

To the one who knocks, the door will be opened

Hallelujah! His mercy and His grace will never end

Give thanks and glorify the name of Jesus forever

Offer thanksgiving as your sacrifice to glorify the Father

For God so loved the world He sent us His very best

Come to Him all laborers, heavy laden, and receive rest

Give glory to God for His steadfast love and faithfulness

In word and deed, do everything in the name of Jesus

The Love of God never gives up His righteous pursuit

Christ Jesus is glorified when we bear much fruit

By this we prove to be His redeemed disciples

“Praise the Lord, all nations! Extol Him, all peoples!”

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
