RESTORE ME, O GOD!

“Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved!”

Psalm 80:7 ESV

O Lord,

Of all my sins and willful pride, I repent

Restore to me the full joy of your salvation

Let your face shine upon your servant

May hope lead me through every tribulation

Behold your great love for a sinner like me

Once I was dead in my many trespasses

This I know, though I was blind, now I see

Lead me in your paths of righteousness

Teach me your ways by your wisdom and mercy

Restore my soul by your steadfast love so great

God of all grace, confirm, strengthen, establish me

I am alive in Christ Jesus for you saved me by grace!

Hallelujah and amen!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
