“HONEY FROM THE ROCK”

“But he would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”

Psalm 81:16 ESV

O Lord,

Feed me with Your knowledge and understanding

Bless those who hunger now and we shall be satisfied

By Your hand You provide the needs of every living thing

We are made righteous by the blood of Christ crucified

All eyes look to Your provision for sustenance in due season

May we always seek You Lord, and walk in Your ways

Every good and perfect gift comes from You, Father in Zion

We rejoice in Your faithfulness and steadfast love all our days

Your encouraging Word is ever so sweet to my taste

Sweeter than honey from the rock is Your abiding love for me

Daily renew my strength through Your abundant grace

You redeem every sinner like me who repents and believes

O Lord, be my faithful guide on this chosen path to eternity

Let me be like a garden watered from Your holy wellspring

Only You can satisfy my thirst for righteousness continually

Shower me with living water from my Savior and risen King!

Amen

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
