“LIGHT IS SOWN”

“Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous, and give thanks to his holy name!”

Psalm 97:11-12 ESV

Whoever follows Jesus will not walk in darkness

Shout for joy everyone who is upright in heart

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, O you righteous

The Savior who redeemed you will never part

In Christ is life and the life is the light of men

The true light gives light to everyone who believes

Always give all the glory to our Father in heaven

Let your light shine before others so they may see

Christ Jesus makes the path of life known to me

In Him there is peace and fullness of joy evermore

Though I do not see Him, I love Him and I believe

He is the hope of the righteous, the light I adore

Let the righteous rejoice in the Lord and take refuge

Everyone who is upright in heart exalt His holy name

Rejoice with joy inexpressible for His timely rescue

Thank the God of all glory for His mercy and grace!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
