“SAVE US, O LORD OUR GOD”

“Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.”

Psalm 106:47 ESV

This is trustworthy and deserving of universal acceptance

Christ Jesus came into this dark world to save the lost

We are saved by the matchless grace of the Lord Jesus

Whom God sent as a ransom for sinners, I among the foremost

Having made an eternal covenant with Christ by his sacrifice

Everyone who confesses Jesus is Lord will be saved

For with the heart one believes and is forever justified

God gathers to himself his faithful ones saved by grace

The word of truth is our hope and guarantor of our inheritance

Until we attain possession of heaven to the praise of his glory

All the redeemed hearts of those seeking Christ Jesus rejoice

Trusting in his glorious name, exalted, majestic and holy

We enter his gates with thanksgiving for his love endures forever

May our worship, prayers and testimony be a pleasing fragrance

And our praise and service to our God be a steadfast endeavor

We, only by the blood of Jesus, shall dwell always in his presence!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week.
