“Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”
Psalm 91:9-11 ESV
In Christ Jesus we are being built up together
Into a dwelling place for God our Father
Trust in Him, pour out your heart before him
God is our refuge, on Him rests our salvation
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
In the shadow of God Almighty will ever abide
Fear not though the earth gives way or we stumble
God is our strength, a very present help in trouble
Christ Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life
Our God being rich in love and mercy makes us alive
With our risen Redeemer by his awesome grace
May our Savior dwell in our hearts through faith
Do not be overcome by evil, overcome evil with good
Jesus will always be with you just like he said he would

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share.
In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified!
