“BEHOLD, YOUR SALVATION COMES”

“Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to the daughter of Zion, “Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.” And they shall be called The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord; and you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.”

Isaiah 62:11-12 ESV

Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last

He is the beginning and the end, who holds us fast

Our Savior King is the root and descendant of David

The bright morning star, the Light by whom we are saved

The Living Word of our Lord God is trustworthy and true

Behold, Christ Jesus is returning for his holy people soon

With him his reward and before him his recompense come

To repay everyone according to what they have done

Come unworthy wanderer, let the one who is thirsty come

Drink the water of life without price from God’s only Son

Proclaim his righteous sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary

The redeemed of the Lord are rescued by his love and mercy

Jesus has sought you out and you will never be forsaken

Receive his saving grace, the gift of faith to be freely taken

To the end of the earth let all people exalt the glory of God anew!

Behold, Faithful and True, his salvation comes for me and you!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
