“WITH THANKSGIVING”

“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.”

Colossians 4:2 ESV

Proclaim thanksgiving to our God aloud

Tell all the people of his marvelous deeds

With hands lifted high and heads bowed

May we steadfastly pray on bended knees

Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving

Praise his glorious name with a new song

Magnify the Lord with righteous living

Established in faith to him we belong

Make a joyful noise with songs of praise

Come into his presence ever thankful

For the sacrifice of Jesus gifting us grace

His love and mercy exceedingly bountiful

Rejoice in the Lord God of our salvation

Let the hearts of those who seek him rejoice

Proclaim his wonderful Word to every nation

Sing to the Lord, all the earth, with one voice

For great is Christ Jesus and greatly to be praised!

Trust ever in his steadfast love with thanksgiving

Splendor, majesty, strength and joy are in his place

Blessed be our God from everlasting to everlasting!

Amen!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
