EVERY DAY I HAVE A SAVIOR

Every day I need a savior

Someone to point the way

Isn’t there something more

To help me through each day

I have this other world feeling

A sense that I do not belong

This life keeps me reeling

How did it all go so very wrong

Who is this One who came to save

To suffer and die for my sins

So much mercy and endless grace

What kind of man would do this

Never has there been a love so true

This free gift I accept by faith alone

My hardened heart no match for You

Every day, Christ Jesus, make it Your throne

Every day I have a Savior!

“Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever.”

Psalms 145:2 ESV

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
