A MORNING PRAYER

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.

2 Corinthians 3:18 (ESV)

Let Your joy fill every corner of my heart so that Your love might proclaim how great You are

Banish my sinfulness and my pride to The Cross on which my Savior died

Grant me hope and perseverance to overcome life’s hardships and strife relying only on the power of The Holy Spirit to defeat the enemy’s lies

Thank You for the promises fulfilled through Your Living Word forevermore I will sing praises to Christ Jesus my Risen Lord

Help me to grow in Your righteousness and grace only complete when we finally meet face to face

Amen!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
