“STRENGTHEN MY HANDS”

For they all wanted to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will drop from the work, and it will not be done.” But now, O God, strengthen my hands. Nehemiah 6:9 ESV

Dear Lord, God of my salvation

Through every trial and tribulation

My hope is in the great I Am

O God, strengthen my hands!

Wandering through the darkness

I seek after your righteousness

Trusting in your sovereign plan

O God, strengthen my hands!

Your love and mercy overwhelm me

Humbly I exalt you on bended knee

Forever praising the Son of Man

O God, strengthen my hands!

Feasting at the table of divine grace

How I long to see you face to face

Joyfully I await the promised land

“But now, O God, strengthen my hands!”

Amen

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
