IN HIS NAME

“Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.” Psalm 63:3-4 ESV

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!

My refuge, my fortress, my God, in whom I trust

With love God sent His only Son into the world

And while we were yet sinners Christ died for us!

The heavens declare His love and righteousness!

In Him was life and the life was the light of men

The perfect love of God made manifest among us

So that we who believe might live through Him

Whoever believes in Him will have eternal life

Lift up your hearts and hands to God in heaven

Believe in the light and become sons of light

For His holy name’s sake our sins are forgiven

Bless the Lord, lift up your hands to the holy place

Let every mouth be filled with His glory all the day

With confidence draw near the throne of grace

Praising Jesus, the name that is above every name!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
