“FATHER OF THE FATHERLESS”

“Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.”

Psalm 68:5

The Heavenly Father shows compassion to His children

He makes His dwelling among them and walks with them

God will ever be our father and we His sons and daughters!

He is a father to the fatherless and the widows’ protector

God preserves us from trouble, He is a hiding place for us

He surrounds His children with shouts of deliverance!

All who believe dwell in the shelter of the Most High

In the shadow of the Almighty we will securely abide!

While still a long way off, our compassionate Father saw us

He ran to redeem us with His merciful embrace and holy kiss

On the Cross His beloved Son bore the penalty for our sin

The Lord our God will ever keep our going out and coming in

The Father has given believers to His Son whom He adores

Christ Jesus desires that we might be with Him forevermore

Arise children and come to the loving Father of the fatherless

Find in His holy habitation, grace and peace and perfect rest!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
