THE EVERLASTING KINGDOM

“Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,”

Hebrews 12:28 ESV

The Kingdom of God is an everlasting kingdom

His abundant mercy and love will never part

Rejoice that your name is written in heaven

Give thanks to the Lord with your whole heart

Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand

Our Lord and Savior is our strength and shield

Take up your cross daily and see the promised land

Sow the seeds of salvation, to God belongs the yield

Enter the kingdom all born of water and the Spirit

God is a very present help, our hope and refuge

Come before the throne of grace all without merit

Worship Christ Jesus forever in spirit and in truth

Bow down, kneel before the Lord God, our maker

O Lord, open our mouths to declare Your praise

Jesus is at our right hand, we will not be shaken

Forever we will praise Your great and awesome name!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
