“Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth; break forth, O mountains, into singing! For the Lord has comforted his people and will have compassion on his afflicted.” Isaiah 49:13 ESV
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, O heavens, O earth
Count all as loss for knowing Christ is of surpassing worth
Break forth into joyous song and sing his praise
By his blood through faith we are saved by grace
The heavens and earth and all that is within them
Shall sing for joy over every sinner rescued to Zion
Exalt the Lord our God, worship at his holy mountain
God has made Jesus both Lord and Christ, our salvation
Blessed be the Father of mercies and God of all comfort
Who comforts us in all our afflictions, find rest in his court
Praise him for his compassion, majesty and righteousness
I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share.
In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified!
