SPLENDOR & MAJESTY

“Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them. Full of splendor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever. He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and merciful.”

Psalm 111:2-4 ESV

The Holy Spirit in you is greater than he who is in the world

God knows your works, your love, faith and your service

Whoever believes in Jesus will with him do great works

Proclaim him who gives peace, joy and patient endurance

Delight yourself in the Lord for from you he will never part

Ascribe to Christ Jesus the glory and praise due his name

Pray continually to him who grants the desires of your heart

Splendor and majesty are in his sanctuary of abundant grace

The Lord is merciful and his righteousness endures forever

Remember all his wondrous deeds and come worship him

Pursue holiness and kindness and find life and honor

Praise the Redeemer who has delivered you from death and sin

Seek him who holds righteousness and grace in his hand

Walk in the Spirit and in truth, keeping your eye on the prize

Wander no longer in the wilderness, enter the promised land

Claim joy, love, peace, kindness and faithfulness in Jesus Christ!

I have been writing poetry since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until a few of years ago that my writing became more spiritual and at the same time more prolific. As I shared my poetry with my wife, Hannah, and a few good friends, they encouraged me to place the poems in book form. My first book endeavor was “Because Of Him”, published in 2017. After hearing Sammy Murimi, the director of Share International Inc., speak at our church, I decided that the proceeds from that book would be donated to Share. In 2018, Hannah and I were privileged to go to Turkanaland in Kenya on a mission trip with Share. It was a life-changing experience for us both. Some of the inspiration from that trip is expressed in my second book, “His Cup Pours Out”. I include scripture verses with my poems because most of the poems I have written were inspired by reading God’s Word. I hope that as you visit this blog, you will meditate on the scripture verses and write down your prayers and thoughts for the week. My goal for this project has always been that God would be glorified! Robert M Hinnen
